What is RADAR

RADAR stands for Radio Detection and Ranging. It works by emitting radio waves and calculating the velocity, distance and, shape of an object based on the echoes of the radio waves. It has an emitter to make radio waves, an antenna to transmit an recieve the radio waves, a receiver to convert the radio waves into data and, a display to convert the data from the receiver into visual data that can be easily understood. Radars rotate in 360 degrees to find objects in any direction. The first radar system worked by emitting short beams of radio waves and can only detect the location of an object. The British then invented the pulse radar in World War 2 to detect German bombers.
