Recently, certain games have been released where the "round" in each game is procedurally generated based on the audio track you select.
(Can't wait to try this song in one of them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xcvouNwZbI0)
These games are tagged on Steam "Music-based Procedurally Generated". Popular/preferred choices include Melody's Escape and TERRORYTHM (That pun! XD)
The way the games work is slightly complicated to explain. Basically, obstacles in the games are created based on certain information and sounds in the audio file you selected. Certain tools examine sounds by listening for the input (The sound), changes the state of certain areas in the code based on the sound (Updating), and displaying it as information that the user can potentially understand (Output).
These games work in a similar way. They will analyze the given audio file, an MP3 maybe (Input), change the game and obstacles based on the file and the code (Update), and then display that to the user (Output).
The "obstacles" can vary between these games. In Melody's Escape, the obstacles are literally obstacles that you evade (Purchasable on Steam for P320).
TERRORYTHM is a bit more complicated and seemingly more difficult. In TERRORYTHM, you need to fight enemies (Similar to other Beat 'Em Up games) without getting hit by them and simultaneously fighting to the rhythm of your music.
(Difficulty can vary between songs. I'm planning to try this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WvweGfab35w)
In order to play these games, you WILL need those songs in the form of certain file formats. MP3 files usually work in most of these games. You can easily (Amazingly easily) convert songs from certain websites at this link. Note, other file formats are also compatible with these games, but MP3 is compatible with both.
Both games can be played with a keyboard and controller. TERRORYTHM, according to its Steam description, is also playable with a USB dance pad! (Whatever that is) If you would like to purchase one, I would suggest purchasing at Lazada, due to reasonably low prices (And discounts!)
(Confirmed to be safe)
Tags for each game + Price (PHP)
TERRORYTHM: Music-based Procedurally Generated, Action, Beat 'Em Up, Controller Compatible: P500
Melody's Escape: Music-based Procedurally Generated, Parkour, Female Progtagonist, Controller Compatible: P320
And remember, ANY song can work with these games! Even audio files that aren't songs! Like maybe, a Logan Paul Vlog! Put into mind though, that each round depends on how long and intense the song is.
