Originally, this post was supposed to be about me uploading my gameplay of TERRORHYTHM (THE PUN!) But due to it being in early access (Version 0.3), there are still performance issues. So instead, I will make this a description on how TRRT works.
TERRORHYTHM, AKA TRRT, is a game where the only rule, is SILENCE! And your objective, BREAK THAT ONE RULE! In Custom Mode, you select a song and fight enemies based on that song. The best part, your movements in the level are limited to the rhythm! Meaning, you can't fight faster than the song!
The controls are simple, press left and right to attack the enemies on the respective sides. Simple right? WRONG AS HELL! You're gonna need to be better at the OTHER controls if you want to be good.
The down key allows you to increase the reach of your character, allowing you to be able to attack your foes and create more distance between the NEXT enemy. The up key is the one that gets FUN! The up key increases your character's "power" bar. You know how enemies in Beat 'Em Up games can sometimes take more than 1 hit?
Well the "power" bar will allow your character to do multiple attacks simultaneously in one direction. But it will only have effect if the enemies are in range. You WILL need this, because sometimes, 2-3 enemies will be too close together to fight to the rhythm. So, you will need to use the up key to attack those enemies simultaneously.
Another fun part, some enemies have shield! Certain enemies have deflector shields, and those can deflect certain attacks. Enemies with green shields will deflect normal attacks back at you. "Power" attacks (Attacks charged using the up key), will be strong enough to penetrate those shields and damage them. Yellow shields on the other hand, will deflect the strength of power attacks back at you (You don't want that.) Normal attacks, are weak enough to not be deflected at you, but are strong enough to damage the enemy!
If you try to not fight to the rhythm of the song, you will lose your multiplier and just be another disappointment in the leaderboard XD
Experience is also important in that game, for sometimes it will appear that certain groups of enemies are "impossible" to defeat without getting hit. Certain enemy patterns can easily be countered if you have the experience and understanding of the game mechanics.
If you get surrounded by a heavy enemy (2 Hits) and a green-shielded enemy (Power attack), a trick is to hit the heavy enemy once to knock them back. Now that you have that distance, you can charge your power attack and attack the green-shielded one. Then you can finish off that heavy enemy who only has 1 HP left.
