Unexperienced's Guide To Survival Games

Since pretty much nothing was learned in the most recent video from Open2Study, I might as well explain what I can about survival games.

Survival games work putting your player in a randomly generated world with little to no equipment.

During the game, you might encounter non-player characters (Also called NPCs). The two types of NPCs in survival games are hostile and friendly. Hostile NPCs will attempt to attack you, or just annoy you. Sometimes during certain criteria. Friendly NPCs are either to assist you be a source of income.

Certain games will have a hunger bar. Over time, the bar decreases. You need to eat food (In-game) to recover. Some games will make the bar decrease faster when during certain activities. In other games, there is no hunger bar and food will just give you a temporary boost (Buff). How the food is obtained can vary between games.

Of course, to actually begin playing any survival game, you will need to gather resources; such as wood, stone, and metals. Some games will make your character gather the resources with your bare hands (Which is literally a pain). Others will provide your character with starter tools (Like that cool gauntlet from Creativerse).

During nighttime, stronger enemies will probably appear (Spawn). What kind of enemies spawn in nighttime can vary between games (Just like with everything else I've written so far). Mobs that spawn during the day will either be temporarily replaced by nighttime mobs or be joined by them.

This feature is in pretty much every survival game I've seen so far; crafting. As you collect resources, you will probably end up having to use certain amounts of it and combine it with other resources to craft better tools, building materials, furniture, and probably also armor.

Now let's get to the fun part, bosses! Bosses are powerful and deadly enemies that can drop powerful tools, equipment, extra resources, in-game currency, and materials. Games that are probably meant to be calm (I'm talking to you, Minecraft) might have little to no bosses. Other games that are meant to be face-paced bullet hells could have several bosses, or more. (Terraria almost gave me at least 14 heart attacks. One for each boss and a few extras for rematches : D)

Agriculture is probably one of the reasons some games are so fun. Since life can be stressful, growing a farm can be very relaxing. But since some people don't really want to worry about being wounded, stung, or poisoned, they just play farming games (Which is also fun). It's so simple, I'm just gonna make a step by step guide.
  1. 1. Gather the seeds or whatever it is that you need to plant (You can buy them, find them, or collect them from what you want to grow)
  1. 2. Till the dirt you want to plant on. (This is usually by using hoe. Some games don't require tilling the dirt. Like Planet Centauri)
  1. 3. Place some water next to the tilled dirt (Can also vary between games)
See? Simple.

Mentioned games:
Creativerse
