To solve the word problem below, it only requires this simple math, hypothetical equations, and logic. If the given number(not percentage) was 100, then the answer would be 21. But since the given number(300) is 3 multiplied by 100, then the answer is 3 multiplied by the percentage(63 = 21 * 3).

Given number: 300
Given Percentage: 21%
21% of 300: 63
I am not quite sure what the question is. Were you being asked for 21% of 300?
ReplyDeleteYes.
DeleteSo do you know how to find the percentage of a certain number now? For instance, if I say I have 93 relatives and I tell you that 33% of them are above 60 years old, how will you find the exact number I'm talking about?
ReplyDeleteI divide 93 by 100 to get 0.93. Then I multiply that by 33 to get 30.69 (I had to use calculator for this one). But, since a number with decimals can't really be used to describe the quantity of organisms(without involving knives), you have 60+ year old relatives.
ReplyDeleteYou forgot to type in the answer before "60+" 😂
DeleteOops. I was a bit busy. It's 30 relatives. How exactly can you have 30.69 relatives? I can't really figure that out so, 30 relatives.
DeleteIs it 30 or 31?
ReplyDelete30
DeleteWhy not 31?
