Have you ever tried to find a game, but you don't know what category or tags to search it by? If so, then you're in luck! Because in this article, I will be describing some of those tags.
First, Beat 'Em Up. Games with this tag the ones where you have a single character (Big-words spree!) engaged in combat against an insane plethora of hostile Non-Player NPCs. If there are weapons in it, either you pick them up during the fight from defeated enemies or you begin with them when you equip them from the menu.
Examples: One Finger Death Punch, TERRORYTHM, OFDP2
Second, Shoot 'Em Up. These games are can be pretty simple or EXTRAORDINARILY HARD! These games are the ones where you control a single character from a top-down point of view and shoot varies enemies.
There are many ways they can attack you. Either large amounts of enemies attack in random locations, or they try to attack you by creating a formation (Galaga), or the coolest one, a single, powerful, enemy who will fire at you in a large pattern of bullets and other projectiles (Touhou).
Examples: Touhou (Multiple of them), Galaga, Super Monkey (Bloons)
Third, Open World. This kind of game is very common, for open-world games are the ones where you can move freely move your character across a preferably large area or a virtual that generates more room as you get close to it. As in "move freely", that means you get to decide where to go in that world instead of being forced to follow a certain road.
Examples: Roblox, Terraria, Trove, Creativerse, No Man's Sky, Starmade
Fourth, RPG. RPG stands for Role-Playing Game. This means you are given a character, and you play as them. RPG does NOT mean medieval (It's pretty stupid to think it does). RPGs are basically games where you get to play a role that you want (Provided that it is actually possible to pick that option).
Examples: Roblox, Terraria, Trove, No Man's Sky, Starmade
Fifth, Massively Multiplayer. These are games where pretty much ANYONE can join an in-game server. In these kinds of games, anyone, even people you don't know, can join a server with possible HUNDREDS of other players. The game usually have an in-game chat to allow players to communicate with others. This is normally either for socializing but it is sometimes also used to strategize; it depends on the game.
Examples: Roblox, Trove, Terraria,
Sixth, Fighting. These games are actually very simple. In terms of description, at least. These are usually the games where there are two characters engaged in a fight between them. In order to win these, you usually need to attack the enemy to decrease their hit/health points (HP) until it is empty in order to get a knockout (KO). Often, you will need to knock them out twice in order to win; making them normally have up to 3 rounds. Sometimes, there is a timer; to ensure that there is actually combat between the two.
Examples: Marvel Contest of Champions (Mobile), Touhou Immaterial and Missing Power, Shadow Fight (All of them)
