Traditional Animation

How does traditional animation work?
Traditional animation is made by displaying multiple images that have a slight difference in each time, making an illusion that the image is moving. This can be very difficult, for drawing potentially hundreds of images that appear to have the same character in a slightly different position can be very tiring and time-consuming. Once all of these images, also known as frames, have been drawn, they are captured by special cameras that will play all of those images very quickly.

Can it still be done today?
Yes! On your device, you can download an app that works very similar to traditional animating. You draw the images, then the app plays those images as if it was a very quick slideshow. That's why animating can be hard, to have an animation that actually lasts long enough to be entertaining, you will need TONS of frames, which can take possibly DAYS to draw.

    1. Yes, I know. I did this one so all of the posts this week all add up to 800 words; 4 200-word articles.
