Our solar system Part 1

What is a solar system?
A solar system is the planets and other objects that orbit a specific sun because of that sun's gravitational pull. If there are objects orbiting around a star/sun, than those objects make up the solar system of that sun.

What is in our solar system?
Our solar system is made of 8 planets; 4 planets made of a kind of rock and 4 planets that are made of gas. The planets in our solar system are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. In this article, we will be discussing the basic facts about each planet.

What is Mercury?
Mercury is the first planet from the sun. It is the smallest planet in our solar system. Because of it being the closet planet to the sun, it has the fastest orbit. With mercury being the closest planet to the sun, the surface reaches high temperatures during the day. Although, since it has no atmosphere to contain that heat, its surface reaches very low temperatures during nighttime. The Romans named Mercury after it's a quick, messenger god because of Mercury's (Planet) quick rotation around the sun. According to Space.com, Mercury is constantly shrinking. Because the planet is made of one continental plate and a cooling core, the planet is slowly shrinking.
