What is potassium?
Potassium is the nineteenth element on the periodic table. Potassium makes multiple compounds; such as potassium permanganate (KMnO4), potassium hydroxide (KOH), and potassium chloride (KCl). Potassium permanganate is used for water treatment and removing hydrogen sulfide from wells. Potassium hydroxide is used to make batteries and liquid soaps. Potassium chloride is used to treat hypokalemia.
What is calcium?
Calcium is the twentieth element on periodic table. It is used to create alloys along with beryllium, aluminum, lead, copper, and magnesium. It is also used to maintain the strength of your teeth and bones and prevents osteoporosis. It also helps maintain nerve functionality. Calcium also helps your blood to clot when you have a wound. It also as a reducing agent on uranium and thorium; it gives electrons to uranium or thorium to reduce the chance of an unwanted reaction.
