Periodic Table Part 3

What is nitrogen?
Nitrogen is the seventh element on the periodic table. It makes up 78% of the air we breathe and has many uses. It is used to make explosives, nitric acid, fertilizers, and liquid nitrogen. Liquid nitrogen is a very interesting substance. It is often used for fun. It is used to make fog by pouring water into it, used to make delicious treat like small, solid balls of ice cream by putting drops of ice cream into it, many more.

What is oxygen?
Oxygen is the eighth element on the periodic table. It makes up 21% of the air we breathe. It makes up water (H2O), the oxygen we breathe (O2), the ozone layer (O3), and is one of the ingredients fire needs. Our bodies obtain oxygen by inhaling it, then it is delivered to the all of the body through the blood. To separate the oxygen and hydrogen in water, we make an electric current go through it; this process is called electrolysis.

What is fluorine?
Fluorine is the ninth element on the periodic table. Some of its uses are for household items. It is used in toothpaste and sometimes drinking water. It is also used solutions used to make lightbulbs, air-conditioners, and refrigerators.
