What is a sun?
A sun is a large, fiery object in space; also known as a star. Although, a sun is actually made of plasma; like fire, lightning, and other objects. The sun of a solar system provides warmth to close enough planets and prevents those planets from floating away.
How does a sun effect a solar system
?
A sun emits heat to provide warmth to planets are close enough. Because of its massive size, a sun has a powerful and large gravitational field; which prevents planets from floating away.
How does a sun make heat?
Suns make heat and light through nuclear fusion. The hydrogen (H) atoms in the sun turn into helium (He) atoms. That process also makes light and heat.
How does the sun effect our health?
When our bodies are still sleepy, exposure to the sun will let the body know that it's daytime. The sun also emits ultraviolet light, which makes the body produce vitamin D; vitamin D helps the body's immune system, bones, and muscles. Not to mention, that a bit of warmth doesn't hurt. Although, sunlight at noon can be harmful. Excess exposure to ultraviolet light can cause sunburn. That much heat can also cause heat stroke.
How can the sun be used?
Sunlight can have multiple uses. Using a mirror, you can reflect the sunlight to communicate to someone through Morse code, or simply just call for help. Using a magnifying glass, you can use it to focus the sunlight and heat onto a small area; that intense heat can start a fire or simply just burn that specific area.
How do you make electricity from the sun?
Solar panels make energy from light. Solar panels are made from cells called photovoltaic cells (Not biological cells). When photons (Light particles) hit the photovoltaic cells, it triggers something called the photovoltaic effect; that is when photons make an electric current by bumping into the electrons and making them move along the current. Another way to make electricity from the sun is to use a plethora of mirrors to focus a large amount of sunlight onto a container with a lot of water. The sunlight will make the water boil and steam, then that steam will rise up and cause a wheel to spin; that spinning wheel makes energy through a generator.
What happens when a sun dies?
Stars or suns die in different ways depending on their size. Relatively smaller stars simply just begin to shrink until they eventually die. The death of massive stars is truly amazing. Because of its massive size, it also has a powerful gravitational pull. Eventually, that star will not be strong enough to maintain its massive size, so it will collapse upon itself and create a black hole. The implosion will also cause a massive explosion called a supernova.
"When our bodies are still sleepy, exposure to the sun will let the body know that it's daytime." And then our body says, "See? It's still bright outside, what the hoot are you waking me up for? Go away and let me sleep until 6 PM."
ReplyDeletePS: I am presuming you are writing on the sun because you have nothing else you want to write about. I found this interesting video this weekend: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YMeuk0ZtLM0. Please feel free to write on that or let it lead you towards something similar that you want to write about.
